Birthday and Indonesia

Today is my birthday and all my means of communication devices are overflowing with wishes from family and friends. I am ever so greatful for all the lovely wishes. Although my birthday is today but I did have a party last weekend where again it was overflowing with people, we almost felt that the house was about to collapse because it was so crowded. But I always see it from the positive side that again I was overflowed by my loved ones. Thank you and thank you again, words would never be enough to express all my gratitude.

On a different note, Indonesia I’m coming! It might be a bit slow here on the blog since I’m not sure about the internet condition there and probably I would be a bit busy as well with work sampling delicious Indonesian food!

PS: This cake was red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting. Mind you the not so pretty icing technique. But it tasted awesome, we finished the whole

I’ve Been There, 2 Years Ago

Couple days ago a friend lost his father and we went to pay our condolence. He died at a young age of 56-year-old after a battle with cancer. The church was full of people, a sign that he was loved by so many. As we approached inside my stomach churned. Inside the church we saw his body laying down in a casket surrounded by flowers and even some drawings made by grandchildren. At first I hesitated whether I should see his face or not but then I bravely moved forward and saw him. He looked in peace as if he was sleeping. I said my prayer silently and moved on to give other people opportunity to say their prayers and goodbyes.  Inside where our friend and his family stood and received condolences, I couldn’t help it but sob right there and then. If not because I felt little bit silly sobbing in front of many people while I barely knew the deceased that I stopped crying. I find it somewhat weird since I didn’t know the father of our friend. But I knew that my crying was more because I felt what they were feeling, I’ve been on their shoes as well. It was exactly two years ago that I lost my father also from cancer at a young age of 51-year-old. Circumstances might be different but the lost is all the same. Indeed life is short, live it to the fullest and love and cherish those who love you.

For my father I wish again that you have found your peace like you’ve always wanted.

For our dear friend and his family sorry for your loss, our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Food Friday : (No Bake Deliciousness) Tiramisu

I’ve been baking like a mad woman for the past weeks. Birthdays, farewel came all together in February. It seems that February is a busy month for social occasions. After twice baking cakes I felt like no baking at all yet still wanted to produce something delicious and cute but with minimum fuss. Tiramisu is the answer! Not that I’ve never made tiramisu before but usually I just piled them inside a bowl and be done with it. But this time I made it Indonesian style which involved some effort but still very minimum. I didn’t know that us Indonesian have the obsession to make food look pretty like this until someone made a remark, ‘oh Indonesian style tiramisu’. Not until then that I realized oh yeah I’ve actually never seen this kind of tiramisu here. But it is pretty right, right?

Tiramisu cake anyone?

For recipe do visit my foodblog here :) Happy Friday!

Winter Wonder(Hol)land

This year’s winter is warm. It is nothing compare to hard winter we had last year where most of the times the temperature was below zero and with lots of snow! But couple weeks ago all of a sudden out of nowhere temperature dropped and lots of snow fell. It might be the only snow this winter so might as well take a lot of pictures of this winter wonderland.

It was a nice weather with blue sky.

And my blue snow boots.

The frozen river.

Wedding Ideas : Instant Film Camera

Instant film camera is cute and easy way to personalize your wedding/any party. It’s not only fun for you to keep the photos but also fun for your guests to do as well. The possibilities are endless.

And if you are looking for one to rent, don’t look any further because we have it right here. Just have a look at our rental site here.

This one is the small Instax Mini, it produces mini photos of 8,6 x 5,4 cm

If the mini is too small for you then theres this Instax 100, it produces photos of 10,8 x 8,6 cm

J : Boudoir Photography

I had the opportunity to shoot Miss J last weekend. She was a pretty girl with bubbly personality, it didn’t hurt either that she could flirt easily with the camera. Somehow I made her laugh like a lot until I was beginning to worry whether it was what I said or just my face that made her laugh. But we had a lot of fun shooting that day. Miss J, enjoy the photos and thank you for letting me share your fabulous photos!
